The five platonic solids have been extensively studied by philosophers, mathematicians, and designers alike, for they have the endless potential of creating exquisite forms. Peels was an exploration of the relationship of dual shapes that resulted in a completely form-based, tactile object. The object begins with a single octahedron (orange), that is surrounded by a peel of tetrahedrons (pink) to make up the Kepler Star. The final peel of isosceles triangles (green) fits around the Star to ultimately form a cube. The interactive object unravels to create surprising, unexpected moments and forms.
